Wernley Bowling Club Welcomes the 2026 Season

Wernley Bowling Club officially opened its 2026 bowling season on Wednesday 8th April, as Wernley B Team Captain Rob Williams and Wernley A Team Captain Jack Price met on the green for a handshake ahead of the club’s first league match of the year.

The occasion marked the beginning of another exciting season for the club, with Wernley set to compete across a number of leagues in 2026, including the Oldbury & District, Dudley & District, and Warwickshire County Parks competitions. With a full fixture list ahead, the club is looking forward to another year of competitive bowling, community spirit, and enjoyable evenings on the green.

The green and surrounding grounds are a credit to the hard work of the club community, whose time and effort have helped ensure Wernley is ready for the new season. Their continued support plays a huge part in making the club such a welcoming and well-kept place for members and visitors alike.

As the season gets underway, Wernley Bowling Club also extends a warm welcome to any new members interested in joining. Whether you are an experienced bowler or completely new to the game, there is always room at Wernley for those looking to get involved in a friendly and supportive club.

Here’s to a successful and enjoyable 2026 season for everyone at Wernley.

Wernley Bowling Club Open Day August 2026

On 1st August, Wernley Bowling Club held a fantastic Open Day, bringing together members of the club and the wider community for an enjoyable and successful event.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to the club committee for all their hard work, time and effort in organising the day. Events like this take a great deal of preparation behind the scenes, and their commitment helped make the Open Day such a success.

It was wonderful to see such a great turnout, with so many people coming along to support Wernley Bowling Club, enjoy the day and find out more about the club.

Thanks to everyone's support and generosity, the club raised an impressive £300 on the day, which is a fantastic achievement.

We would also like to give a special thank you to Cllr Luke Cotterill for taking the time to attend the Open Day and show his support for the club and the local community.

A big thank you once again to the committee, everyone who helped on the day, and all those who came along and supported the event. Your support is greatly appreciated, and we hope to see you all again at future events at Wernley Bowling Club.
